Hi Rich, I'll definitely keep that in mind. He and I do keep in touch daily, either through Facebook or Yahoo! Messenger, and the phone. Again, thanks very much! :)

I do commend you on taking such an initiative on educating yourself, unfortunately, you're already way ahead of many others that could indeed use such positivity. I haven't read Julie's books but I have looked over her blog quite a bit and have learned a ton as she is very similar to my wife as far as the particular challenges and disorder type goes. Regardless of being in a long-distance relationship, I personally do not have that experience, however, your ability to provide the support you're wishing to offer will still be useful and valuable as long as your partner is also willing to stay as connected with you as possible. Remember, just like any relationship, this is a two-way street.

Hi Rich! I'm going through your e-book now and I am really glad you wrote it. For that, I thank you very much and I really appreciated it. It's a valuable resource because I am in a relationship with a guy whom I love very much, but recently confirmed diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Ever since that revelation, I am determined to stay by his side and go through this together. What you said in the book is so true, and it's exactly how I felt even before stumbling into your blog:

"Once we know that bipolar disorder is present and choose to educate ourselves on what challenges it brings, we can learn to understand the truth and even learn how to embrace and emotionally negotiate the relationship through many otherwise damaging issues." p.5

I've bought books (all three written by Julie Fast who is also suffering from BP) to educate myself on this illness, and of course, by reading blogs like yours. I want to know from the perspective of sufferers and their supporters (people like you).

The thing is that I am currently in a long-distance relationship with him, and has not experience the reality of BP. I want to be as ready as possible when I finally get to be with him and know what to expect. I want to give a chance for this relationship to work. We love each other very much.

I would love to hear from you if you have any thoughts about the nature of my relationship with him. Thanks, Rich. :)
