About
Hi, my name is Rich Wallace, loving husband to my wife of six years and during our twelve years together, we have been battling her affliction of Bipolar Disorder (Type II – Ultradian Cycling). Although I am not a certified therapist or medical professional, I have the experience on my side, and the blessing from my wonderful wife, to be able to share my ideas and strategies in how people may be able to assist in providing the much needed support for those involved in a bipolar relationship.
I have long had a deep desire to help others and my opportunity to do so came when my wife and I were introduced to Bipolar Disorder when she was diagnosed after we realized that she was just not handling stressful situations as efficiently as she had in the past. After seeing her doctor and honestly answering some intense questions, we were informed of Bipolar Disorder and took the next steps to educate ourselves and combat the new challenge. After years of ups, downs and unexpected potential relationship ending issues, we constantly worked harder to not only improve our strategies in dealing with such challenges, but our love for one another actually grew stronger than we could ever imagine.
With the skills and experiences that have been offered to me, I took the plunge with my wife’s blessings and aimed to inform others and help them to see that even with the seemingly increasing stigma of mental health issues such as Bipolar Disorder, recovery and happiness can indeed be found and embraced.
With that passion and desire, TheBipolarSpouse.com aims to provide useful and helpful information for those involved in a Bipolar Relationship.
